In October 2020, deep in the pandemic, my father-in-law gave me a basement full of his Playboy magazines. Rather than them ending up in a dumpster, I quickly said "yes" to what turned out to be over 300 magazines. Without a plan for their new life, I decided to just look through them all. There was a pattern of sameness in the centerfolds and, the more I looked, the more I wanted to create new portraiture out of them. To give new life and agency to these nudes and bring a sense of classical elements mixed with modern. All frames are vintage finds from Estate Sales I have been to. What started in the quiet cold of a New Jersey winter in an uncertain time, because this project you see today. I hope you enjoy its journey.
